A brief of the topic:
Creativity in the workplace is essential for innovation. Whether it’s creative problem solving or the flexibility to decide how work gets done, creativity is integral to the employee experience and growth. Creativity is not just about being different or solving things in original and innovative ways; it’s also about collaborating and interacting with others.

‘Thinking outside the box’ is a very powerful concept worthy of deeper consideration in today’s complex and rapidly changing world driven by creativity and innovation. Organisations want people who have “outside-the-box” thinking because they are able to come up with creative ideas and solutions that will make effective problem solving and breakthrough innovation happen on a daily basis.

Thinking outside the box is more than just a business formula. It means approaching problems in new, innovative ways; conceptualizing problems differently; and understanding your position in relation to any particular situation in a way never thought of before. In business, ‘thinking outside-the-box’ can mean, for instance, looking beyond your industry’s boundaries and existing markets. Thinking outside the box is supposed to mean confronting problems in a typical way, thinking creatively and freely, and encouraging frequent challenges to the status quo. This is a behaviour that deviates from organizational norms or common expectations, to the benefit of the organization.
